Adverse credit notifications on credit file
Hi There, I started a package with yourselves in November 2023 when I moved into my new property. When I moved in I was making manual payments. I was late making two payments, not back to back these were two separate months. It wasn't intentional, just due to the chaos of moving and Christmas and not setting a direct debit up straight away. As soon as I realised I'd not made the payments the account was brought up to date, and not within a lengthy time from the original due date. I've recently been applying for a new mortgage and have been having issues so requested a copy on my credit file. The only adverse history on my credit file were these two late payments of under £40 each. Please can someone assist, I've always had a clean credit file and because of an oversight on my part I know can't get a mortgage.370Views0likes2CommentsCredit File default
Hi Steven, I've had a credit application declined yesterday for a mortgage due to an incorrect default placed on my account by Virgin Media. I've confirmed with Virgin and the debt collectors they sent that the account is actually zero balance. I have already emailed the creditfileamendments team as above. However, I am currently at risk of losing my property purchase unless this can be resolved in the next day or so! It is urgent that this email is escalated as the 21-day waiting period is too long and the ramifications to my personal and financial life are happening presently. I have already lost a lower interest rate due to the delays on this. Any help in expediting this process would be greatly appreciated, I'm sure you can sympathise that it has been quite stressful to potentially lose our future home over a credit file error. Thank you for your time, Luke775Views0likes8CommentsCredit file arrears after dispute.
Hello. A dispute surrounding a cheap phone that was sent as part of a contract, which was not wanted, has led to a failed payment and arrears on my credit file. I remember disputing this “gift” during the contract setup on the phone but it was assured that it just “comes with it”. when cancelling my contract I was subsequently billed for this low spec phone which I didn’t want, use or need. I felt like I had been set up and conned into accepting this additional handset. None of this was a major issue until recently. I payed the final bill which included the £100+ fee for this phone and forgot about it, vowing never to return to VM. Today I applied for a credit report where VM have put a mark on my file for failed payment. I payed this bill ant the time, possibly a few days late as it was under dispute at the time. I now require VM to remove this mark, as the bill was payed and was under dispute in any case. Any assistance in resolving would be appreciated before raising to the Ombudsman. Thanks and regards. Hi, Recently, I discovered that there is a default mark on my credit file that is associated with my Virgin Media account. I have diligently maintained my account and I have requested for a disconnection many months ago and I was told that the retention team will call me. I haven't received any calls but got an email in June saying I have an outstanding amount of 76.62. Meanwhile last month there was a default placed in my credit file without serving me a default notice. I was waiting for the Virgin team to call me to discuss and I was about to come back as a customer again. I also had a chat with Virgin Media customer care and they promised me that if I pay the outstanding they will remove the default from credit file, also asked me to send a mail to creditfileamendments@virginmedia.co.uk I did sent them a mail and got a response that they will update my credit file as satisfied which is unfair. Can anyone help me with the process to escalate this as they have the recordings of my previous conversation and their promise.769Views0likes0Comments
