She said the IP allocation is quote' nothing to do with Virgin'., so nohing they can do about changing it. I was not rude, but I was insistent that all I keep getting is fobbed off and that I wanted someone to help. She just said' I can't help you ' and hung up on me.I have been with Virgin since it was United Artist (yes I am that old). An excellent service has developed into 'don't bother us'. Oh well. Only one thing to do. I will not post any more about this. Just hope someone from Virgin reads it and realises what we have to put up with. Re: IMAP says IP is blacklisted Thanks for that - I didn't know about that form. I have filled it in and sent In the mean time emails started working EXCEPT one email address would not accept the password. I tried changing the PW, but it needed me to give a non-blueyonder email . I tried this, but it said I had already made a change , and to respond to the email. There was no email. Called support (worse thing I ever did). She made changes and said now, to get my emails I had to use my gmail account.. She said she had changed it that way - I said no, I didn't ask for that, I just wanted to reset my password. Then she said I needed to create a 3rd party email address (not blueyonder) to link to. I asked why. She said that is the way. I insisted she explained why but she could not. During all this, again all emails were flagged as blacklisted again. I said if she could not explain why she wantend me to do what she asked I would not as everything was going wrong yet again. It was left that level 2 support would ring me tomorrow (won't hold my breath). I then wondered if me unable to access one email address was the cause of the problem - if it had been hijacked or something. So I deleted that email address from my account. I rarely used that one anyway. I am only putting all this detail here in the hope that support can see how frustrating it is working with the first line support. I have spent hours and got nowhere. I hope filling in that form does something, so thanks for that. End of frustrated rant. Re: IMAP says IP is blacklisted Update. After 2 hours on the phone, with them trying to get me to pay monthly for 'gadget support', I finally got through to 2nd line support. Yes my IP address is blacklisted (they cannot say why) and it is due to be automatically changed on 25th anyway. apparently this is an automated change that happens at certain intervals. They have put in a request for it to be done sooner but canot guarantee it will happen. So I have to wait for possibly 6 days just to find out if it makes a difference. NOT impressed. Re: IMAP says IP is blacklisted The message is : --The Imap Server wants to alert you to the following:Temporarily blacklisted IP Address- Try again later. I can send and receive via the webmail IMAP says IP is blacklisted I cannot get into emails. I just get a message saying my IP is temporarily blacklisted. I have called support. He got me to change my email password. Still the same. As I can get into mails via my browser, he insists it must be my end, and that I need to call gadget support (who charge) This is despite me pointing out many times that this problem exists on my PC (Running Outlook) and my laptop (running Thunderbird), and my wife's iPad - she cannot access emails either I fail to see how all 3 programs can develop a fault at the same time, and despite me saying the error (saying I am blacklisted) is coming from the IMAP server. Any real support people able to assist please? SolvedRe: Remotes intermittently stop working for a short while. I am not saying what it is, as I don't know. All I know is what I originally reported. 3 V6 boxed all keep failing to respond on odd occasions The reason for my original query was to see if it was a general problem or unique to me.If unique to me, it is a bit strange that I get it on all 3 boxes. Re: Remotes intermittently stop working for a short while. Well I thought it was dodgy batteries, as after installing brand new (tested)it was ok. But........ next day could not get the box to come out of standby with the remote-I had to wake it up from the box. It then responded for few minutes once it woke up but then refused to respond to the remote for about 2 minutes, then came to life and was ok again. No logic at all that I can see. Re: Remotes intermittently stop working for a short while. UPDATE I had changed the batteries originally - first thing I tried. After all this I was stumped- so out came the battery tester. The NEW batteries I had used were all low when tested, so this time I tested all batteries BEFORE inserting them, and good ones seem to have cleared the problem. Embarrassed that it was just batteries but normally new batteries are just that - new , and you expect them to be up to the job. Lesson learned - test new ones BEFORE inserting. Sorry for the wild goose chase.I will now monitor to be sure that has cured it as it was intermittent before, but so far the problem has not occured. Re: Remotes intermittently stop working for a short while. No. Still the same. I can't really beieve it is an isolated fault with the box or remote if I get the same problem on all three boxes.I would guess it is either an inherent problem with V6 boxes (but if I am the only one experiencing it then that is not likely), or something external is affecting any box in the house. It is no big game changer of a problem, but is annoying nonetheless. Re: Remotes intermittently stop working for a short while. They are all original V6 boxes. Round remote - not the sqared off one.
