Re: Cancel Contract help please I tried phoning to cancel my contract, it said I would get to talk to somebody quicker by using live chat, and sent me a link to a live chat page, but none of the live chat buttons on their website work! Nothing happens when you press any of them, anywhere on the site. Live Chat not working - 1st November 2024 I am trying to contact VM to cancel my package, but none of the Live Chat buttons on any of their pages do anything. I've tried them in Firefox and in Edge, nothing. I tried phoning up, and when I finally got through all the options to the place I wanted to be, the recorded message said it would be much quicker to contact them via live chat, and to press '1' to get a text with a link sent to my phone, so I did that, but the link, which was virginmedia.com/click2chat?tid=xxxxxxxxxxxxx where 'xxxxxxxxxx' is a long number, goes to https://www.virginmedia.com/help/live-chat rather than to the URL they sent me - i.e. it immediately changes to https://www.virginmedia.com/help/live-chat as soon as I enter it into my browser and press enter - so VM is redirecting it to a generic 'help' page, which has live chat which doesn't work! Re: Cancel and my partner join as new customer What if somebody with the same surname as you buys the property from you and moves in? What if you move out of the property and a member of your family moves in- are they not allowed to have the internet for 90 days? Why doesn't VM just offer existing, LOYAL customers, the same prices as the new customer offers? They are obviously still making a profit, they couldn't afford an 18 month contract at a reduced rate if they were losing money. Re: Cancel and my partner join as new customer Can they refuse service if you're black? Can they really refuse service 'for any reason'? Re: Cancel and my partner join as new customer This really should go down in the annals of history as the most ridiculous and obviously untrue reply by a customer service rep. ever... "This would apply to anyone in the property." So if I sell my house, the new owner can't have Virgin Media until they've lived in the house for 90 days? That sounds likely (sarcasm). Re: Cancel and my partner join as new customer Precisely - if you are renting or selling a property - you normally leave on one day, and the new owner/tenant moves in the same day or the next day! Are VM telling us that if you move into a house that had VM services, you can't get the internet back up and running until three months have passed, in your new house? Obviously not. As you rightly say, "an address can't be party to entering into a contract". It's not in VM's interest to NOT supply services to a property for a whole 90 days. Just get your partner to sign up for 18 months, then get them to cancel after 18 months, and then you sign up again, and repeat.
