I get about 120Mbps but if I download via P2P through a VPN I get OK speeds for a while but quick quickly my entire connection is downgraded - not just the VPN but the whole link is slow and speed tests show it knocked right back. If I stop the P2P and give a it few mins, the full speeds come back. They are up to some kind of throttling. Clearly with the VPN in place they cannot possibly know it's P2P traffic but they're doing something for sustained download traffic via my VPN all the same. Re: Terminated, and not a moment too soon. I think they might be in a bit of trouble now firms like City Fibre are rolling out their superior network in a lot of areas. Suddenly you go from Virgin being the only game in town if you want higher speeds, to having a choice of about 10 companies using CF's network. Virgin have got away with high prices but instead of spending it on a UK support team and treating customers well, they've been greedy and taken us all for granted. People don't forget. Very short-sighted of them. Re: Terminated, and not a moment too soon. At last there is some cable competition in our area. And like a lot of people, I'm off. High prices, awful support, a service goes down way too often, making me renegotiate down from outrageous prices at the end of each term but never getting close to the original term's prices....but they could get away with gouging their customers for too long and now they can't. And the competition is faster anyway. Expect zero loyalty from me, just like you had none for me. Good riddance I say.
