And if this is some genuine process, why was there no warning at all? I have been through this kind of chaos twice before, and it always eventually resolved itself but this getting ridiculous. Re: Email login asking for two factor authentication problem I have had that e-mail address for 26 years, that's a lot of online services I would have to change the e-mail for if I want to change it (and I have other emails already). From HMRC to vendors of all sorts. Re: Email Problems Why on earth do we even have to set up new passwords? Has it forgotten who we are? Mail works fine on my phone with the old password but not on my laptop. Why is that? This has now happened 3 times as far as I remember and the problem has always been on the server side. I keep having to generate new passwords for no apparent reason or notification and even then things struggle to work normally again. And no notification from Virgin to its user whatsoever during this whole process. Ridiculous. Re: What's going on with email accounts? Well that definitely didn't happen. I'd give it another 24 hrs. Mail still works on my phone, last time I just used that and didn't bother changing passwords etc. Wait long enough and everything tends to start working again in my experience. Re: NTLWorld loss of service I am having the same problem with my ntlworld account, been a VM customer for years and not the first time I have been locked out of my e-mail account and requested to create a new password. There's never any "data breach" either. What is going on? I can't read e-mail online now but I can do it on my phone. Re: unable to send emails from emClient for ntlworld.com email account Not much has changed, today I'm on the work guest network, trying to send a picture from my android phone to my work email and there it sits waiting "unsent" and "queued" in the outbox. Switching to 4G doesn't send it either. I then switch from my ntlworld account to gmail account on my phone, send the same picture and it arrives within seconds. Gmail 1 - Virgin 0 Re: unable to send emails from emClient for ntlworld.com email account Just using the google mail, smtp.virginmedia.com port 465, SSL/TLS security. Yesterday I followed a tip to try and send stuck mail by going off WiFi and use 4G and weirdly as soon as I switched off WiFi those emails disappeared out of my outbox. Could be coincidence but I found that tip on this forum as well... Re: unable to send emails from emClient for ntlworld.com email account I am also experiencing issues sending email from my ntlworld account on my android phone. This the second time now this has happened, sent mail just stays in the outbox unsent. Last time it was eventually sent hours later. Outbox now just says "problem synching", suggesting server issues.
