ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Thousands of e-mails disappeared A couple of days ago I noticed two years - 2023 and 2024 xxx@virginmedia.com emails mysteriously vanished my my Outlook 365 desktop app and also My Virgin Media web. Checked folders - Trash, Deleted and Archive - but of no avail. What I have left are some of my 2022 and 2021 and prior VM mails. I wouldn't have deleted all 2023 and 2024 without going through them one by one. So, what could have happened and where all the deleted mails gone ? It never happened before in before in almost 20 odd years. Contacted Virgin Indian support desk and they couldn't help saying what had been deleted couldn't be recovered. Re: VM outgoing mail from my desktop PC Outlook 365 stuck in Outbox this morning Yes, I finally resolved it. It wasn't the resetting of my VM mail account. It was due to my IP being blocked - actually twice within a month for no apparent reason other saying I was sending bad mail which I didn't. At first thought, as it happened soon after I reset my VM password using an app generated pw my VM outgoing mails kept getting stuck in my Outlook 365 outbox. So I logged into MXToolBox and noticed I have no blacklist under SORBS DUHL AND SPAMHAUS ZEN - I wonder who are these people. With that info I, I log into following link https://netreport.virginmedia.com/netreport ( II found out from other Virgin community posters) and filed a report and had my blacklist delisted with 24 hours. I don't what things could trigger an IP address block. When your IP is being blocked or blacklisted don't bother calling VM's support/helpline as they won't be able to solve the issue. Many times, they don't even know or tell you that your IP has been blocked and how to resolve it. VM outgoing mail from my desktop PC Outlook 365 stuck in Outbox this morning I have VM outgoing mail stuck in my desktop Outlook 365 this morning. Contacted Virgin support and the reply was my VM mail settings were OK. I have not made any changes to my VM mail account server settings other than changing the password to an App generated password last Saturday and there have no issues until this morning when a couple of my outgoing VM emails (including one sent to my web access My VM mailbox) got and still stuck in the Outlook outbox The error message is: The connection to the outgoing (SMTP) server was dropped. Please check the outgoing (SMTP) server settings and try again I have not made any changes to my VM mail account server settings other than changing the password to an App generated password last Saturday and there have no issues until this morning when a couple of my outgoing VM emails (including one sent to my web access My VM mailbox) got and still stuck in the Outlook outbox. SolvedRe: Can't send virgin media emails with Outlook 365 Do you have to reset the the password to log into My Virgin Media Web access and my Outlook 365 Virgin email account password under server settings at the same time ? Are they both app generated or the WM web access PW can be anything I choose. There is a bit of confusion here as even Virgin's Tech Support don't get it right first time. At the moment I have the following error on my Outlook 365 which I think might be due to me setting 2 passwords differently. Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for xxxx@virginmedia.com.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for xxxx@virginmedia.com. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' Task 'Synchronizing subscribed folders for wingwong1@virginmedia.com.' reported error (0x800CCC0E) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for wingwong1@virginmedia.com. Error: Cannot connect to the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' Re: Can't send virgin media emails with Outlook 365 Two question: 1. Is the password to log in to My Virgin Media web access is an app generated specific password that look like this :xxxxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx all in lowercase letters ? 2. Is the app generated password as described is also the password to be changed to in my Outlook 365 Mail Account Settings ie. under File/AccountSetings/Server Settings ? Re: Can't send virgin media emails with Outlook 365 Just got it sorted. It transpired that I had to change My Virgin Media login password and my Virginmedia email With this newly generated PW have to change my My Virgin Media web login and my Outlook 365 desktop mail client Virginmedia mail account (under Server Settings) to this newly generated Pw. Previously, I only changed my Outlook 365 mail client server settings Pw. Can't send virgin media emails with Outlook 365 I have the same issue and error message 0x800CCC0F as the first post. It happened this afternoon and all my outgoing Virgin mail got stuck my desktop Outlook 365 Outbox. Outgoing mail via My Virgin Media web seems to have no issue. Spoke to Virgin's support desk and was told the IP on my Virgin Hub 4 was blocked and should be resolved by 5th May as the Hub4 will generate a new IP but I am not sure how true. So why wait till 5th May ? I have configured my Hub4 as a modem and connected to an Asus wireless router. If anyone else has this issue please advise how he/she had it resolved. Re: Can't send virgin media emails with Outlook 365 I have the same issue and error message 0x800CCC0F as the first post. It started yesterday. Tried sending again this morning getting stuck mail in Outbox in my desktop Outlook 365. Still no joy. Any advice will be appreciated. Re: My virginmedia email account Now I got the message "Your Virginmedia 2 account settings are out of date.". Is this relating to my password ? I have 2 passwords - one to log into My Virgin Media on the web and the other under Mail Account Settings in my desktop Outlook 365. My virginmedia email account Yesterday I noticed my outgoing Virgin emails kept getting stuck in my Outlook365 outbox. I thought my IP was blocked. So I contacted Virgin by calling 150 got through to the Manchester Help Desk. I told them what happened suddenly and they said the problem was I didn't changed my mailbox password. So they generated a 5-5-5-4 (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxx) all letters password where I changed to in my Outlook365 - File/ Account Settings/ Server Settings/Password. The issue then went away. Anyone else has this issue that he/she has to change his/her mailbox password to one generated generated by Virgin ? Also, can I now change the Virgin generated password to something else ? Same thing logging My Virgin Media via the web. I have to change my username to non Virgin Media.email address and changed my password to one Virgin gave me but I can change it. I wasn't been told or advised that I have to do the aforementioned. I would like to hear from anyone else who had to do this. Solved
