Anybody else having problems with the samknows real speed test? Re: Virgin upgrade works has messed up power levels Thank u legacy1 and seph I will leave it as it is then.. Re: Virgin upgrade works has messed up power levels Hi seph me again lol, so basically the downstream was above 10db so I thought I'd take off the 6db attenuator (the rectangular one old type) and try the new technetix 10db attenuator (cylinder type) and see if it would lower the downstream. So I did that and it did lower the downstream to about 5db to 6db which seemed good however I checked the upstream levels and they have gone from 34db to 47db so I thought that can't be right it's jumped up over 10db I expected it to go up to 38db to 39db basically as downstream dropped by about 4db as obviously its gone from a 6db to a 10db so it went down by 4db which was expected but the upstream doesn't seem right to have jumped by that much, I expected it go up by 4db but it didn't so I took it off and put old 6db attenuator back on And now the upstream has dropped back down to 34.5 and downstream back at 10db again, I don't like these new attenuators virgin are using now seem small and not right compared to old rectangle ones, I thought that as its cold and upstream is lower that come hotter weather the upstream will rise even more potentially going into the 50s?, i don't know what to do if I should stay with 6db one and low upstream power and high downstream power and see how I go or put 10db attenuator back on, im not getting any post rs errors and thinkbroadband monitor is ok no packet loss so maybe i should leave it as it is, im puzzled by the upstream jumping up so much, should it increase that much? any thoughts on this? Any help be nice, I'm concerned by the upstream power levels being at 34.5, more than the 10db downstream levels which u have said is fine .if u guys say that the upstream power levels at 34.5db and 10db downstream are OK then fine I needn't worry...and won't bother with the 10db one. Re: Virgin upgrade works has messed up power levels Hi ipfreely so how do I get virgin networks to look at the upstream snr? Does the field engineer have to report it to networks?or can forum team refer it to them from here? Re: Virgin upgrade works has messed up power levels I had a feeling u would say seph, that to scoop out the mud from the droplink which I might add is filled with ants lovely lol but I will try or wait until Tuesday and see if the tech wants to do it I know that sounds bad.. Re: Virgin upgrade works has messed up power levels I do appreciate your help guys.. Re: Virgin upgrade works has messed up power levels Hi thanks for reply seph and ipfreely, it has dropped when it hasn't rained in the past but generally when it rains the upstream qam drops, are my photos visible now? To seph can u see mud in drop link and cabinet photos? Ipfreely shall I mention to the tech about networks?as what u said I dontbreally understand a bit too technical for me lol Re: Virgin upgrade works has messed up power levels Hi The tech is coming Tuesday what should I tell him or her?
