Which basically gives any potential 'scammer' all the info he needs to then 'spoof ' those numbers to try their luck. Re: 2.4g wifi keeps dropping off Probably just as annoying as your repeated suggestions to spend money on another router, just because VM can't supply a service we are paying for. Four or five times in this conversation I think? Youv'e repeated the same spiel on a number of replies. (possibly picking up a bonus from the router manufacturer?) Persistant calls from VM? OK, so, over the last few days, had repeated calls from a mobile numbers 07884434*** supposedly from VM. Recorded messages regarding problems with our VM services. Both male and female recorded messages, and repeatedly calling, so beginning to get a bit fed up with them to be honest. (Yes, I am 'opted out' of marketing etc. ) Are these numbersw actually VM, or are they 'spoofed' or just some 'scammers' looking to catch us out. Blocking 1 number, they phone on a similar one, (just the last 2-3 digits are different) so difficult to do them all. Any chance Mods can check these please. If they are genuine VM, they shouldn't be calling, as we do not have marketing allowed in the account!! Re: Hub 5 (6months old or so) 2.4gHz WiFi stops Had this for around 3 months now, (see my original post here) 2.4g wifi keeps dropping off | Virgin Media Community - 5679111 VM are aware of the problem apparently, and yet 3 months on, still don't have any idea what it is, or how to resolve it, apart from 'resetting the hub' when it happens. Read the replies from VM staff on here in the post mentioned, shows just how little they are interested in fixing problems, while they've got your custom, and your monthly money safely in their bank account. My contract is up next month, so looking to get away from this bunch of 'couldn't care less' cheapskates. There are better deals out there. Re: 2.4g wifi keeps dropping off OK, so, running through this 'check list' in order so far. Smart wi-fi disabled, no change, 2.4G still drops out. 2.4g is already set to channel 1, and always has been. Hub current software is : LG-RDK_11.6.2-2410.1 (think this is the latest?) 3 devices currently connected, sometimes 4 wirelessly, but not usually more than 3 at any time Not gone down that route so far, and real pain resetting everything including renaming the SSIDS, and the security type, and the channels, etc, as well as every devices log in. Condisering the hub 5 is only a year or so old (replaced a failing hub 3 which kept failing dropping everything) assume that these are not that well made perhaps if that's the problem. Ours is on a shelf on it's own, well away from anything else, so no overheating or getting 'hot' Over to you VM. Re: 2.4g wifi keeps dropping off So, now 2 months, and STILL no reply from VM or mods. Assume this one has now been quietly 'forgotten'. Last post from anyone working for VM, is 31 days ago. From Kath_P 'We don't have any updates on this but rest assured the teams are working on getting things resolved.' Don't honestly think that anyone is actually 'working' on this. Just more VM B/S. Re: 2.4g wifi keeps dropping off Stupid response!! No, but I would expect the electrics and water to work, and the windopws to open/close etc. Buying a house means you buy the STRUCTURE, not the internal decore, etc. THINK, before replying!! Re: WIFI POD HOT & BLACKENED WALL I think if the Trading Standards have taken them, then VM are not going to get much joy trying to 'charge the account holder for failing to return them' if TS decide to make a big issue of it, that's for sure. More likely TS could charge VM for providing 'faulty goods' which 'could' possibly endanger lives. Re: 2.4g wifi keeps dropping off no, the service is NOT fit for purpose. It should work as supplied, NOT expect the customer to purchase other items to make it work as it should! How would you feel if you bought a new car, and was told that to make it work, you had to buy the wheels seperately as an add on? VM should supply the kit so that it works as it is. Son in law on BT, they don't have these problems with their supplied kit. Neighbour is on Cityfibre, and their hardware works OK. WHY can't VM do the simple things correctly. As stated, contract up in new year, and already in touch with other suppliers. Refuse to be fobbed off and told to buy my own kit, when VM's is meant to provide the service. Re: 2.4g wifi keeps dropping off And again today, loss of 2.4g wi fi, yet 5g is OK. So yet ANOTHER reset needed. Mods, is there any further news regarding the 'fix' for this?? Basically 2 months of SILENCE. Obviously VM ignoring this problem, as usual. A reply of some sort would be apprecisted please. Even if it's 'no, and don't care' Paying for a service that isn't fit for purpose. Seriously considering making a formal complaint.
