You're in pole position regards negotiating, I'd wait until you are just within the month to end of contract. Re: Getting your contract negotiated to a competitive price has become impossible. Im off I was in a similar position recently, though I have 2 BB connections with different suppliers and wanted to retain a backup if possible. I also like a record option so I looked at SKY and EE. I didn't fancy a dish much so EE were the favourite but in the end VM made me a pretty decent offer to stay so I did. I would wait until you have less than 30 days remaining on your contract then ring retentions. Just say you have plenty of other options and what can they do for you to stay with them. If you quote them prices of other suppliers they'll know you have done your homework and mean business. Re: Getting your contract negotiated to a competitive price has become impossible. Im off In particular VM's e-mail service which they are rumored to be in the process of winding down. New customers don't get the option of a VM e-mail addy which in my opinion is a bullet dodged. Re: Getting your contract negotiated to a competitive price has become impossible. Im off All fair points BaronVS, I too have had cable services forever (94-95 ish) and was fully expecting to leave recently but very unexpectedly got a decent offer from offshore retentions to renew so I'm stuck for at least another 18 months. As you accurately describe the communication process is sketchy and unreliable to say the least and good luck getting to speak to a UK based advisor. In addition as you also note this forum is the one decent access point left to get anything sorted. I wouldn't worry about losing the e-mail facility, I suspect it will be gone before too long for everyone and no great loss really, especially after the debacle of a year or so ago. Good luck with the shiny new connection. Re: No sound and pixellation on channels Hi Ashleigh. Initially I wasn't conciously intending to report the issue, just answering somebody elses question, although I can see how it came across as such so apologies for any confusion. In any case my issue resolved fine after VM reported it fixed, VM then reported an engineer was attending the issue again some hours later (same fault reference) which was subsequently also fixed but I didn't have a recurrence of the problem myself. Re: Sports channel pixelation VM finally reported the TV issue fixed around 9 am today. It's sorted my issue with the same sports channels mentioned by the OP. Re: Sports channel pixelation Although in this instance, across different threads, multiple people from the same area simultaneously reported the same fault with the same handful of channels. A bit later VM called a TV fault in the area. It could be a big coincidence but i'd be amazed if the work doesn't sort the problem discussed (assuming VM ever get to fix it). Re: Sports channel pixelation VM are currently working on a TV fault in the Leeds area but keep pushing back the estimated fix time. Of course there is no guarantee that this will fix our faults as it could be an individual issue. Re: Re: Pixelling channels with broken sound Fix estimate now 24 hours later, 9 pm tonight. Re: No sound and pixellation on channels Fix estimate 9 pm.
