Fantastic! Except that I've just received it again this morning - same sent date/time, but received 4 days later. Re: Email Problems Persisting. I quite agree, Zammie21. Emails have been slow to arrive for getting on for a week now. An Amazon order confirmation email was sent at 09:48 but processed by VM at 16:28. Another email was sent Friday at 18:14 but processed by VM at 15:21 on Saturday. Come on VM, please do something to fix the problem. Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 My emails too have been restored including all the folders and their contents. What a relief. Now to back them up quickly before it happens again. And do a bit of housekeeping on them too. I hope everyone else gets theirs back soon too. They take a little while to download when you first connect after the restore so don't immediately look and say "but they're not there" (as I did!). Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 Incidentally, I was just looking at Axel's LinkedIn profile and was interested to read that he is "putting customer’s needs at the centre of company processes". Given the positioning of that apostrophe, I wonder who that one lucky customer is. Right now, it certainly doesn't feel like it's the rest of us! Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 That is a brilliant step-by-step guide, Mykol! Many thanks for that. If pluggulp is right about Axel making a statement today, then it would seem to be sensible to hear what he has to say before rushing ahead with this solution. But I will save those instructions for later use. Cheers! Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 That's really useful, willatt. Thanks. So restoring my historical ost file won't do any good as virgin will just delete all those emails because they're not on their server. My backup appears to be useless except I can restore and look at old emails when I'm not online. In which case, I don't know how we could have done anything at all prior to the outage (except maybe switching to POP3 as conrail has done). Thanks anyway! Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 Hello Steven, It would be really helpful if you or another member of the Forum Team could answer the questions I raised yesterday, which were: I have an OST backup of my mailbox from last December but, unlike pst files, Outlook does not provide a browse mechanism for ost files. I can easily substitute that backup for my current ost file (I have tested this offline), but I don’t know what the VM system will do when it sees it. Will it delete all my texts and folders all over again or will it add all those texts and folders to its own servers? Will it repopulate my Outlook with the mails received and sent since 19th July? And what if VM do actually manage to fix the problem? Your advice appreciated! Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 I haven’t yet complained about this dreadful situation, but two weeks have now passed and, with resolution deadlines passed and precious little in the way of communication from VirginMedia, I am losing faith in VM’s ability to resolve the problem.
