ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Disney+ showing USA content Looks like they have resolved it, after 10 days, IP is now showing as GB and Paramount+ is working again, and Netflix/Disney showing UK shows and adverts So, now the blame game, who was responsible for all these people losing access to streaming services for well over a week, with little to no acknowledgement of the issue, outside "we are aware" Re: Disney+ showing USA content Its been over a week that this problem has been happening, VM are "aware", but no announcements, or dates to fix, all the while, people are not able to access streaming services properly. Calling them, you get told to "check the forums" When are Virgin going to confirm the issue, and inform people they are fixing it, with a date for a resolution? The lack of information is just another frustrating point of being with VM, they don't update, and don't seem to care, as long as you pay I have been quietly changing my email links in all sites, apps, and contacts to a new, none Virgin email, due to the issues experienced in the past. Once that is completed, only a handful to go, then I wont be locked into Virgin Media, and will be looking to YouFibre, cheaper, faster and cannot be in any way as bad the Virgin Media service I've had over the last couple of years VM pull your finger out, sort this mess out, and inform your paying customers what's happening. I need this fixing, so I can change my last 3 email details, on affected streaming accounts, then I'm gone, save money, and will have a better level of service, as nothing can be as bad as VM! Re: Disney+ showing USA content I have sent a tracert to Mods, along with screen grabs from my TV saying I'm in the US, as well as screens from WhatsmyIP and Fast, showing I'm in Stockton California, rather than Stockton-on-Tees, which seems to be the issue, but its been over a week, and nothing done so far VM need to pull their finger out and resolve this issue, as it isn't going to get any better, as people lose access to streaming services they have paid for. I can connect using my mobile data only, all working fine, its only on VM Broadband and Wifi that it routes me to the US, and geo-blocks me, so a VM issue Re: Disney+ showing USA content Issue has been happening since last Friday My Netflix is working on my TV, the issue for me is Paramount+, which is not Netflix owned There appears to be some mis-match between Virgin reporting their IPs in the UK, and the streaming companies reporting them as being in the US. The fact the issue shows IPs as Stockton, California, instead of Stockton-on-Tees, UK, means the mis-match needs to be coordinated between VM and the streamers. Seems to be affecting mainly people in the Teesside area, which ties in with the Stockton transposed geo location, being the issue. If VM are aware of this issue, as people keep saying, then they need to communicate that, and fix the issue, as I have been waiting a week so far, and it seems like its going around in circles Re: Disney+ showing USA content I am getting blocked from watching Paramount+ content on my Sky Q box, as it is saying I am in the US! I am in Teesside, UK, using a standard Hub 5, with no Proxy or VPNs in use, Netflix and Disney+ are working fine, along with all other streaming content, its just not working for Paramount+ ( I saw someone say that Netflix was showing US adverts, not for UK, so it may be the same issue, I will check on that on mine, later) Tracing the client shows, Stockton US, not UK, but the servers show as Manchester/Leeds/London GB, see image below This issue started last Friday, and is still not resolved, are VM having some form of issue with their IP reporting, which is showing as US and not UK? I am currently talking to Paramount+ Support and the script they asked me to run, is showing the following {"success":true,"ip":"[removed]","region":"US"} So, are VM having IP issues, which is affecting users access to streaming services? Re: Disney+ showing USA content IANA collate them, I have checked my IP for blacklists and its not on there, and still reports to UK, but it seems the streaming companies are using someone who shows it as US, which may be a simple typo somewhere, which is causing all this havoc Re: Disney+ showing USA content Well you have seen mine from Fast.Com, it shows Stockton US, not Stockton-on-Tees, and there are a lot of people in Teesside posting online, who seem to be having the same issue The other 2 links show UK based, Middlesbrough/Stockton, which is what I would expect, but the Sky Q App is showing US, and when I spoke to Paramount+, they asked me to run a json script, to confirm location, and this shows my VM IP as being in the US, not the UK, so something funny is going on with the IP ranges, and where they are being shown, which only seems to be affecting people in the Teesside region As I posted earlier, has someone at VM selected the wrong Stockton somewhere, so we are showing the IP range as being in Stockton, California, and not Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside? Either way people in Teesside are complaining about Netflix/Disney+ showing US adverts and Paramount+ being geo-locked, which suggests IP ranges have become incorrectly registered somewhere Re: Disney+ showing USA content I have seen a lot of this online, same issue, all people in Teesside are being reported as in Stockton, California, US, not Stockton-on-Tees, UK, so has someone in VM selected the wrong Stockton from the list for IPs and resulted in people being geo-locked. This has been an issue since last Friday, where content being paid for, is blocked due to geo-restrictions, when we are in the UK, and the issue appears to be a VM issue Re: Disney+ showing USA content Yep, mine on that link is saying Middlesbrough, but run this one https://fast.com/ and see what it shows for you, I bet is says Stockton US Re: Disney+ showing USA content Same here, I am onto Sky and Paramount+ as they both say I am connecting via the US, but when running a geolocation, it says the IP is VM, UK based, and my PoP is a few miles up the road from where I am, so there is an issue somewhere in mis-reporting of IPs
