Why has virgin not grasped the nettle and dealt with it. There is an easy solution out there and they could make some money on it supplying extra remotes. I have got round this issue by using one for all remotes. Currently I am using 2 OneForAll & one original virgin remote downstairs and they all work well ant upstairs I have two OneForAll remotes they also work well one of these is an older type(no longer available but it is back lite. The older one is a bit more clunky to work so may change it for a newer version but no back lite versions now available from OneForAll). This ignoring customer requirements by Virgin is why I will be moving to a different cable company Community Fibre as soon as they open their network up to my road. This and the continual dropout of broadband I am getting ( 5 min here 10 min there on a regular basis). Virgin used to be very reliable 10 years back (I have been a customer for 20years+ going back to when it was Blueyonder) but no longer the service is rubbish. The only reason I have not jumped ship is that they are still the fastest when it works ( community Fibre is just as fast and could work out cheeper and from what I hear more reliable) Re: Pairing two remotes to new 360 boxThis looks visually to be the same remote that was supplied when the engineer up graded my TiVo cable box’s to 360. You can only pair one of theses remotes per cable box. Or is a newer remote that that looks the same that more than one remote can be paired per cable box.Re: Pairing two remotes to new 360 box Yes the remote may have a voice recognition but it only any good if you can get yours hands on the remote from the other side of the bed/room. Alexa has voice recognition without the need for a remote that system would be more useful. I have since found that certain “One For All” remotes you can add to the original remote giving you two remotes. I am not technically minded and don’t fully understand why the original remotes it not an option to use more than one per cable box. Was this a cost saving or just over looked on the original brief. Could Virgin not talk to a company that seems to know what they are doing and use their superior remotes as a standard option. Re: Pairing two remotes to new 360 boxMy insulation engineer was not even awear that two remotes could not be paired to one box. If they have not been informed what chance do we have. I have 3 box’s and previously used two remotes downstairs as my wife and I used different chairs and it’s convenient, and in the bed room it allows one remote to be placed on each bed side table as if one person falls asleep allows the other to turn off the tv without disturbing the other. Who in their great wisdom did not recognise that customers may need two remotes per box. Multiple remotes should have been part of the design brief, or don’t customer needs matter. I believe the new Sky glass tv have inbuilt mics if so should Virgin incorporate a mic function in the 360 as part of the design brief or is customer happiness not important any more.
