It’s only Sky Comedy and it happens pretty much continuously to some degree and is happening still. If someone can actually check the channel properly at the Virginmedia end and watch closely for several minutes you will see white pixels and glitching to some degree. It’s clearly not just me who is experiencing this so I see no point in arranging an engineer to look specifically at my setup, especially when it’s happening all devices including an ipad that I use when travelling away from home. Re: Sky Comedy glitching IMO, I seems as though there is a tendency to diagnose this issue as though it's specific to individual customers... it's not, it's specific to an individual channel and multiple customers, possibly all customers are experiencing it (many might not even watch the channel - and many may have screens that are small enough to obscure it). There is clearly an issue at the distribution end, it is almost constantly there, sometimes hardly noticeable aside from some white speckles and the occasional audio glitch but at other times it renders the channel almost unwatchable. Is there some interference being introduced by compression systems either at Sky or at VirginMedia as it's allocated to its channel number? Is it being monitored? If so is the monitor big enough? Other than SNL and John Oliver there's very little on this channel that I've not already seen a load of times but when I turn on for those two programs (or try to record them) and see the issue it's massively frustrating. Re: Sky Comedy glitching Hi Paul I have 2 x 360 boxes but I was away over Christmas and not able to monitor them for issues. i have just returned and can see some limited glitching on the live channel feed at the moment (20.49 Sunday night) but not much. There were white pixels and glitches across most of my recording of last week’s SNL when I came to play it though. The issue comes and goes but only on Sky Comedy HD Re: Sky Comedy glitching I did when they first began to occur many months (over a year) ago but problems exclusive to Sky Comedy HD weren’t ever listed. Usually if there's an issue with TV listed, it’s one that affects all channels, or more likely the ability to access on demand services. This is a very specific and annoying issue just on ONE channel (and one that I’m not always watching) and sometimes it seems to get cleared up and goes away for several months only to reappear a few months later with exactly the same symptoms. asim18’s images capture exactly the kind of thing that I’m seeing too and sometimes it is tolerable but annoying whereas at other times it can make an entire evening’s TV unwatchable (if it wasn’t for the fact that I can turn over and watch something else without any sign of these things). When the white pixels start to appear then I know that it will be risky trying to watch Sky Comedy HD so unless it’s something like SNL or John Oliver which is quite current I don’t bother anymore. Re: Sky Comedy glitching Hi Matt, It’s on all shows and adverts too so I’m pretty sure it’s not a frame-rate issue. Also my TV can easily deal with differences in frame rate and I don’t see it on other channels with mixed US/UK content or streaming mixed US/UK content. i noticed lots of white pixels on The Franchise yesterday (particularly obvious when the image is dark) but not too much glitching whereas SNL last Sunday had quite a lot of glitching. When this has happened previously the glitching seems to get worse for a few hours or days rather than for specific shows but the white pixels are a pretty continuous ‘tell’ across the whole Sky Comedy HD channel output. It’s much more noticeable on a bigger screen but it’s always there and it’s and indication that the glitches in picture and audio will soon follow. Re: Sky Comedy glitching Hi Matt, If you check through my previous posts from when this has happened before you will probably find most of the answers to your questions but to address the specific ones you raise: I’m not using a soundbar on my main TV - audio is being routed out of my TV to an amp (via eARC) but the 360 box is plugged directly into the TV using the highest quality HDMI cable, Furthermore, the issue is occurring on my other 360 box and also when I watch simultaneously on the Go app on my ipad. The glitching is on exactly the same frame and in he same position on screen on all 3 devices both when watching live and also when watching recorded programmes. This is clearly an issue that is being introduced and the transmission end either by Sky or when Sky Comedy is muxed into the Virginmedia cables. It has been reported and fixed before but has returned. Is there something special about the Sky Comedy channel that makes it particularly prone to this kind of interference maybe? Re: Sky Comedy glitching Yep. I’ve noticed it again a few times this week. Exactly as before. Sky Comedy Channel only. Constant white pixels and audio and video glitches that are occasional but regular enough to get pretty annoying. Re: Sky Comedy problem Hi Ilyas_Y For the time being the problem seems to have cleared up again but if it returns I’ll try and capture some video for you. Re: Sky Comedy problem Hi @John_GS It's definitely still happening for me on both of my 360 boxes and when streaming to my iPad too. Sometimes it is easier to spot than others and right now (midday Thursday 22nd) it's quite mild but definitely happening. On a smaller screen you might not see it at all but on a bigger one the tell-tale sign are the little white pixels dropping out around the screen and the occasional audio glitch. If you hang on long enough you'll probably also see a bigger glitch on the pictures and on days when it's happening badly (as it was on Monday) the glitching is very noticeable and distracting. It only ever happens for me on the Sky Comedy HD channel and for the last month the channel has been glitch free but whatever sorted it at the beginning of last month (I think at the broadcaster end) needs to happen again. Cheers Matt Re: Sky Comedy problem Unfortunately this problem has now returned (exactly as before and only on Sky Comedy HD) after a month of being glitch free for me.
