Caveat Emptor. Re: downgrade from 360 to V6 TiVo Beware of any free 'upgrade' from VM. It wont be for your benefit. Re: Box keeps losing all recordings Its a common bonus feature of the 'upgrade'. It would be quicker to report the fault directly to VM on their faults line, than posting on here. Re: Online Renewal Contract I've heard the same story a few times. They refuse the cheap deal you were offered, then try and flog you a more expensive one. Eg. Some information that we need to process your order was missing | Virgin Media Community - 5670341 And My tale of woe | Virgin Media Community - 5604022 Not sure how they are continuing to get away with it. Re: Free upgrade from Hub 3 to Hub 5 please What more does a Hub 5 give you? I pay for 250MB and get slightly more than that on my hub3. No wifi issues. If it aint broke dont fix it? I'm always wary of VM 'upgrades' ! Re: What is the point of a stream box? A 1980s VHS tape recorder is more advanced than the steam box. Dig it out of the loft. It records and fast forwards through ads, Clever eh? Bet VM wish they'd thought of it :) Re: 360 upgrade? It isn't the same 'horizon' as the post office, but its inferior and much cheaper software for VM to provide, hence their keenness and misleading "upgrade" terminology. Re: Mother-in-Law has Alzheimers Consider if Freeview would best for her? Keep it simple and save a lot of money. There are ' magic eye' devices that can control channels remotely - worth investigating. Re: V6 to 360 You've discovered what many others have found out, the 360 is a downgrade for the customer, but an upgrade for VM. Its a saving for VM as they can use ther own inferior cheaper software, rather than paying for Tivo. VM of course dont want you to have one box giving a feed to 2 rooms. They want you to pay for 2 boxes This is also a part of the 360 'upgrade' to their profits. Re: Recordings disappearing after TV360 upgrade So why dont VM supply a new box as standard with the 360, given all the issues? Surely they couldnt be trying to do things on the cheap? They are making a significant saving by getting rid of Tivo software, some of that should be invested in customers.
