The objective of the 360 is to get customers onto a cheaper platform. An 'upgrade' to VM profits. Re: Contract renewal If its the link in your VM account, saying 'renew and you'll lose nothing', then think you have cause for complaint if you lose the recording capability. That is a major change, and surely even VM wouldn't be that underhand? ( i.e you are right to seek confirmation). Re: Move my 360 box to the other side of the room You can try, but i think they only charge £25 to come out for such things, tbf thats reasonable. Re: V6 Upgrade Questions The best solutuon is not to 'upgrade'. You'll lose lots of functionality and gain diddly squat, apart from errors with the boxes ( have a read through the forum before proceeding). The 'upgrade' is for VMs benefit only, saving them money on Tivo licences. Thats why they are so pushy. Re: Box keeps deleting all recordings Ask them to 'upgrade' you to a V6/tivo. Its much more stable and a vast improvement :) Re: Being punished for staying with VM FOR OVER 13YRS. You'd be better off with a freeview recorder. No monthly fee, and you can still ff through ads. Re: Contract renewal link faulty Yes it's a standard VM, 'bait and switch' tactic ( which is illegal). The offer you think you've got won't materialise. They'll then try and sell a more expensive package. Re: Are smart recordings possible? No, as you've been 'upgraded'. This means getting less functions. Its VMs own strange definition of the word... Re: Old TV box deactivated following upgrade Surprised VM did any 'upgrades' over the xmas period. They usually have a hiatus, so viewing isnt interrupted. As for the 360, even if you get it working you'll be disappointed, it doesn't have half the features of Tivo. Never trust a company that hides behind one word ( "upgrade"), without giving any more detail. Re: Virgin 360 is appalling Strange how none of these boxes were faulty before the 'upgrade'.
