Updated about a week ago. Hate the new system anyway as can't watch at fast speed but then this morning discovered my recordings and planned recordings had all disappeared. Was told to set the 'delete when storage needed' to off, as if my few recordings would've used up any storage! And why would that option delete planned recordings!? Anyone got any other answer to this? Also I rebooted the box after setting up a new planned recordings and when it restarted that was also gone. So if I ever need to reboot will I lose every recording and planned recording from now on?

It's a bit of a common problem with some of the older V6 boxes being upgraded, basically you need your box replacing.

You can either call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone, mobile or landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault, or wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

When phoning choose the option to report a fault, then ignore all the options offered and you should then be placed into a queue to speak to someone.

Hi @geekyhay

Thank you so much for your post and we are so sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue with recordings since upgrading!

Can I just double check, was the setting set to delete when storage needed? If so has this since been changed?

We have a new box from the engineer but I have yet to see if that solves the problem, because I havent rebooted the box to see if all recordings delete, I cant face it!   However 'delete when storage needed' is not the issue as I had only taped about 5 programmes.  It was very difficult to get customer service to take this on board on the phone and it was a relief when the engineer came and understood that was obviously not the problem.

Thank you @geekyhay and I am glad to hear that an engineer has arranged a new set top box for you.

Please do monitor this for us and let us know how things are looking.
