Has anyone else had this issue, I've recently upgraded my soundbar to a samsung q600c and I want to connect it via passthrough because of potential sync issues. Anyway I did it but when I try and watch anything through an app, netflix, disney etc I lose picture and sound. I have a samsung series 7 ue50ru7020k tv, all of the settings are the same as my old soundbar which worked perfectly with passthrough, I'm also using 8k hdmi cables although I did try with standard ones and had the same issue.

Hi @Jeff15
Have you tried setting the sound to Follow Content?
For Sound issues go to Settings > Audio & Video > Audio Output > there are options > Follow Content, PCM 5.1 (HDMI only), and PCM 2.0
Netflix will always use Follow Content. Use 'Follow Content' for any bitstream audio like Atmos where it's available on content.
The loss of picture and sound on apps such as Netflix, Prime and Disney + generally happens due to a difference in frame rates.
Go to Settings >Audio & Video > Match frame rate
If it's set to ON then people do see a blackout when the 360 or HDMI reconfigures for the difference in frame rate.
If it's set to the default (Off) then the box just accepts the frame rate difference which isn't noticeable by most users and shouldn't blank the screen out. (Either way try toggling this setting to see if it improves your issues)

It's already set to follow content but the frame rate is an interesting one, I'll try it when I get home. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer.

You sir are a steely eyed missile man! It was the frame rate. Turned it off and everything worked. Thank you so much.
