I have spent hours, honestly hours, trying to describe our friend in India that my VM email account using Windows Mail and Thunderbird will not hold, or accept an account. Indeed, I must have torn my hair out 40 times over the past year trying to find out why my password is refused. He/she has never been able to solve it, even when the phone call runs past 30 minutes and my patience limit.
The solution is on an earlier page, but I have lost his post, so this is the solution.
"If you change your password in MV Media-Account Settings-Account details, you will not be able to access the Account via an email client. Email access now requires a specific password to do this which can be generated in the MyVM-Account Settings-Account details-Mailbox app password management". It is near the bottom.
I thank this man or woman a thousand times. VM should send a clarification to every member, in understandable English, of the solution to a problem that must infuriate just about everyone in Virgin Media.

Yes, the Email forum section is full of similar tales of woe. Personally, I do know about the changes, but it was never advised to me by VM. It's only because I have been reading the Email forum section that I knew about it.

It almost seems as if VM want everyone to ditch the email system and go elsewhere for their email services.
Oh, wait, I've already done that ! ...... 🙂
