Had a Firmware upgrade pushed out this morning at 00:17  Service was resumed about 6 minutes later according to my Router emails.

Now at LG-RDK_7.6.15-2306.5

No idea what the changes are however as I use modem mode.

That knocks it down to gigabit speed right? Or is the port marked as 2.5Gbps just for show and in fact any port will perform at 2.5Gbps speeds (albeit 1 port maximum)?

I pulled out the switch as it’s no benefit over WiFi at gigabit speed. I’ve got a desktop that’s beside the router that pulls over a gigabit on WiFi which hosts my NAS etc. Cba pulling out the switch to check it lol.

Now at LG-RDK_7.6.15-2306.5.  Update occurred 2am last night.

I do not work for VM. Services: 2 x HD TV (+ Sky Sports, TNT sport), x2 Tivo boxes (WiFi) Hub5 1gb, Talk Weekend Phone on IP.

On our wavelength

Just got the same firmware update overnight and everything broken this morning. Resorted to a full factory reset before reading this post, so spent ages reconfiguring all the settings. I've switched from the 2.5Gbps port to another and all is working again (the light on my unmanaged switch show that the speed drops to 1Gbps when you switch to another port on the Hub5, so only the 2.5Gbps port offers 2.5Gbps)

Forum admins, can this firmware be reverted to previous version until this is resolved?

Tuning in

I had issues a week ago woke up to no internet. My Hub 5 is in modem mode I have a netgear MK90 Mesh which has 2.5gb wan port. After going through all the motions with support factory resetting etc the only fix was to move from the Hub5 2.5 port to another so it dropped to 1gb and started working again. I assumed it was a faulty hub and came on this forum to see about getting the hub swapped but looks like I have the same firmware issue and swapping won't fix it.

The irony of the 2.5Gbps port no longer working correctly in some circumstances, which is the main reason users have been complaining they want to move from a HUB 4 to HUB 5 to make the most of Gig1 in modem mode, is not lost on me.

just checked on my PC it is already disabled.

If I connect to the 2.5 Gbit port my PC displays No Connection,

if I move the cat6 cable to a 1Gig port I have internet.

Sadly customer services says this shows it working in their test, but they can see it is not working if I change to the 2.5 port.

As I have a connection via a Gig port they marked it resolved.

So far, I have completed 3x 20 minute resets via the app & a power off reset.

Yesterday, the 28th, I had 524 dropouts, I would be online for 11 second max before it dropped out again.

My 2.5mbit switch works when connected via a router to a gig port, but not when connected to the 2.5 port.

Will try connecting router to the 2.5 port.

Router is Netgear Nighthawk RAX120 with a 2.5 port. could be interesting

It’ll work if you can turn off EEE. Stupid deployment if you ask me. I’ve done about 5 upgrades now as I keep resetting and reverting back to 6.9 so I’ve got to monitor it.

It appears the timing of the firmware is prior to loading of the boot configuration. So the firmware comes along and turns EEE on. Then much later the boot config tries to pop along and gets dropped by a hub that’s like “I’ve got everything turned on.”

lovely - it’s honestly amateur hour to deploy your boot config way after the firmware and boot takes place. It’s like having a service to bringing your umbrella 3 hours after every rain shower. You’re already soaked and you don’t want it anymore.

Had a replacement hub, Speeds prior to the firmware being updated. Now I am back to 940 max.

I moved the connection to a 1gig port on a Nighthawk router to get it working again.which is connected to a 1 gig port on the Hub5
