Hi, we are ordering a piece of furniture to house our new hub 3 but need to know its dimensions at their widest please (length, width and height). Many thanks

...and what VM supply a Hub 4 ?

Don't have the dims to hand, but be sure to allow sufficient ventilation. The Hub 3 does get hot, & will malfunction if it overheats.

Thanks, we had alternatively thought about wall-mounting, as in the photo, but were worried it may cause overheating as 1 side would be pretty close to the wall when mounted. Do you think it would be a problem?

Mount like you have shown could seriously impact the hub’s WiFi.

Thanks, we were of the same opinion and so were going to opt for this piece of furniture shown below. The bottom compartment, where the router would be placed, measures internally 17cm width, 22cm depth and 34cm height. I suspect the router is approx 7.2 cm wide at its widest point and so this would give 4.9cm clearance on either side. The wooden unit would be sited against a wall in the hall with the cables connecting to the router feeding off at the back, and the front of the router with the light would face outwards. Would this provide enough ventilation around it to prevent overheating do you think?
We were given these measurements for the router, but suspect they might be for the old hub 3 model

WiFi routers should not be in any enclosure. They are supposed to be high up in the open to allow for WiFi distribution.
Also there is no old or new Hub 3, they are all the same, except for the early models that were white.

Thanks. We've had to position the router in the hall but there's not much room between the entrance door and where it sits currently as we are limited by the electrical socket position. Thus the table was to prevent any tripping hazard and keep it safe, but it would need to be quite small to fit in the hall space. Maybe a more open design would be preferable like the bottom shelf of this table (I suspect it would get knocked off if positioned on the top).?

You can use an extension lead for the socket or get VM to move the Hub to a better position for you. It's a standard £25 no fault call out fee. That may be a better solution?
