AI replies on VM forums

There have been a number of replies to questions on the forums that are obviously generated by AI. They are often quite helpful responses to the question.

But these answers, and any responses to them, get deleted by moderators. 

I've no problem with either the AI posts or their deletion, but I'm interested to know what might be going on. Is VM testing AI to use for customer support?  Is someone else using the forum to test their AI skills?

Of course this thread might also disappear.

Looking at the number of rambling first posts that are a mechanical cut / paste of stock paragraphs, perhaps the forum joining process could include a CAPTCHA when the email used does not match a current VM a/c.
