Virgin wifi boosters... Real or a Myth?

I pay for 500mbps and recieve an average of around 35... I called them almost as soon as my internet went live, completed all of their tests so they could see it for them selves and they said they would send me a wifi booster..

a few weeks passed and it never arrived, so I called them, repeated all their tests etc... same again. now I've been with virgin media for 12months (ish), I've had that same phone call with them atleast 5 times (not exaggerating) and they have said they would send me a wifi booster every single time... not one of them ever arrived.

i want to cancel but i hear they will charge me £500+... so I guess I'll just have to wait it out, never been with such an awful company in my life.

"an average of around 35"
Which is typical for a laptop or mobile connected via the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band.
