Looks like there is a fault, but it's been saying this for a few days now...
Surely we should be compensated for this?

You would think so but unfortunately not. It needs to be total loss of service https://www.virginmedia.com/help/billing-and-payments/automatic-compensation
There is a speed guarantee but it only applies to download speeds (not upload). https://www.virginmedia.com/wifi-max

I have taken a look and I can confirm there is an area outage due to end on the 3/4/24 at 10:30AM.
