Open DNS Resolver Vulnerability

Hi
I have had 4 messages now from the security team at Virgin Media I have tried all the suggestions that i can find on here.  I have a question on my router I had UPnP enabled.  I have disabled this now.  is this likely to have been the problem.  I also saw in the logs on the router a local IP that did not seem to be attached to any of the devices on the network.  since disabling UPnP this seems to have stopped showing up in the logs.  just need to know how do I know if the issue is now fixed and there does not seem to be anything I can go to on Virgin Media to test it or to get them to test it again.

AFAIK if the issue persist then further notification will be sent.

FYI following maybe of help MEDIUM: DNS Open Resolvers Report | The Shadowserver Foundation where detection is via dig command.

Can anyone tell me how virgin media generate the emails.  As this might help with getting this resolved.  I asked on WhatsApp but as I'm using a 3rd party router they shut down even answering any questions about the email.

Disable UPnP on your router and reboot
