Our virgin wifi keeps connecting and disconnecting multiples times a day. We called virgin they said they can’t see any problems. We think we’re being hacked because we got a scam call saying you are having problems with your wifi it keeps going and coming and they wanted to offer compensation. We knew it was a scam, but wondered can they hack our wifi? What can I do? Virgin are so useless. Do I need a new router and cable??

The call is almost certainly a scam. Wifi hacking is possible but highly unlikely. Check for local faults on 0800 561 0061 and ensure all cables and connections are tight and in good condition.

Does the issue affect all connections (devices hard-wired to the hub by ethernet and also wifi devices) or is it a problem for wifi connections only?
If only wifi devices are affected, try turning off the 'smart wifi' feature in the hub settings and see if the reliability of the wifi connections improves. (You won't be able to do this though if you use VM pods with your hub wifi)
You are not being hacked either. As you have already stated, that was just a scam call to try to extort money from you by a fake refund scam.

Hi vikotsu2
Thank you for your post A warm welcome to the Community Forums.
I'm very sorry to hear you've been having a lot of issues with your broadband service recently. As correctly advised by the other forum members, this call was definitely a scam call. We'd never call our customers to tell them they have an issue with their services. Any outages would be reported from here, or customers would need to report to us if they have an issue.
We'd like to know a bit more about your set up and if you are experiencing issues across wired and wireless devices, so if you could please expand on this we'd be able to help further.
Many thanks 😊
