Hi there,
I have a long-standing issue that’s been looked into with virgin since 13th October but so far I have had no resolution and only seem to be going backwards, so I have come to this forum looking for advice on how to proceed.
My house is in a cul-de-sac and upon moving in, my next-door neighbour informed me that he had VM. I then got set up with virgin on the 13th October and everything was arranged. The third-party installers came out and advised me that there was no fibre optic cables in my access point and it looked like they had stopped initial work at my neighbour’s house and not continued.
After receiving this information, I spoke to VM who advised that they had stopped work due to lack of planning permission from the local council. I subsequently spoke to the council who informed me that this was not true and sent me emails confirming that planning permission has been given.
Since speaking to the council, I have tried to handover this evidence to VM and have them send someone who to survey the area as a whole, now knowing planning permission is there, to figure out if fibre optic can be installed. However, after upwards of 10+ phone calls I have had no luck.
As a result of work being prematurely stopped in my area, around 40 houses are sitting as unserviceable.
I am trying to get someone from VM to come out and survey the area and see if work could be carried out now that we know planning permission is given. If for some reason they say that work can not be carried out because of the type of road, area etc then absolutely fine. However, currently VM aren’t servicing the area due to incorrect information.
Any help on this would be massively appreciated.
