Netgear Booster

Hi,

I hope someone can help me with a similar problem, I have the Hub 5 and I have Netgear boosters, unfortunately, the Netgear boosters no longer work since I got the Hub 5 and I thought it would be fairly simple to pair them with the Hub 5, but I'm getting nowhwere, the main problem it's affecting is when I stream content on my main TV which is located quite far from my Hub 5, what happens is this, we could be watching something on Apple TV+, which is connected to our TV via a stick, and because the bandwidth signal is weak a message appears telling us that connection was lost, I never once had this problem with my old router which was successfully connected to the Netgear boosters, I get a good wifi signal at my TV but as I said it drops out and it's so frustrating when you are watching a good show and the stream stops, so could someone please help me with this, thanks.

Hi, ok I have one that was connected straight into the router, It is a powerline 1000, and the serial number is 4N9169D1A85E2.

Where these originally provided by VM?  If so they are the old PLA's and are no longer supplied or supported.  You should be requesting the newer Wifi Pods.  However depending on your contract, they may be £8 pm additional cost.  Also they are not powerline, so rely on the signal from the Hub to propagate to the Pod(s).  You can get a maximum of 3 Pods.

If the Wifi is too weak for the Pods to extend to where you need it, I would suggest getting your own, more up to date, PLA's, especially if you need to pay £8 pm for the Pods.

Provided the Powerline 1000 devices are still paired to each other ( check this & re-pair if needed ),
I'd expect the Powerline 1000 family to work when connected via one of the three 1Gb/s ports on Hub 5.

Avoid connecting via the 2.5Gb/s port of the Hub 5.

Hi, yes they were supplied to me by VM, I am on the Volt package, would this qualify me to receive the pods for free?

Thanks.

Hi, I avoided connecting via the 2.5Gb/s port of the Hub 5. but it still doesn't work, thank you for your help.

The Hub 5 supports Ethernet speeds of 100/1000 and 100/1000/2500 any device that requires the speed & duplex negotiation to first begin at 10 Mb/s fails to work with the Hub 5.  You are not the first to get stuck here.
