Hi folks

I am looking to buy a Humax Freeview box for my daughter.
Would this work on WiFi. We have the 500mb and quite a good signal in her room.

Thanks

Which Humax product are you looking to buy ?

Hi Hero

Not too sure as just investigating the situation and ensuring that it can be connected to our WiFi.
Thanks

Details of seven Humax UK products are here along with specs and Wi-Fi / Network cable connectivity options.

Streaming TV does not take high bandwidth, typically well under 10Mb/s for 1080p content.

Hi Hero

Thanks for that. I have no way make a hardwire connection and need to rely on WiFi. So these are very good options

thanks again

Hi @Harley2017

The boxes can be connected to VM broadband either wirelessly (with a good signal) or better still via ethernet cable.

You might have a problem obtaining a Humax freeview box as per the following article. It might also be more expensive than you envisaged.

It might be worth looking at, and waiting for the new Manhattan freeview boxes when they become available

If you can get the FVP-4000T as it has good WiFi connections, 3 storage sizes and can record 4 channels whilst watching a 5th. I have had one for quite some time and will keep it until it gives up the ghost 😊

It has a reasonable selection of apps e.g iPlayer, MyFive etc.   These boxes also can use the Humax “Espresso”, this little box can be connected to another TV and watch and control the FVP over your LAN.

EDIT  -  I see this has been superseded by the FVP-5000T.  https://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/freeview/fvp-5000t.html

Hi Hero

Can you watch the “council” channels with this? She currently has a PlayStation for Netflix and Disney
