I want to run my fire stick at 2.4ghz instead of 5.0ghz
how can I set it up through Mac filtering?

Mac filtering has nothing to do with what wifi you connect too

Well how do I do it then? Mac filtering lets you set your connection at either 2.4ghz or 5ghz

Split your Hub's WiFi signal into 2 separate ssids and then pick the 2.4ghz one that will pop up on your fire stick WiFi options...

I would have to ask why, as 5Ghz is so much faster?
I connect to the 5Ghz on my laptop. Network speed @180Mb, my phone only has 2.4 and the most I can get is around 20Mb
In fact I just checked my Fire stick in case I had not swapped over to the hub network and I got over 200Mb on a speed test.

We have a Hub 3 and I looked at MAC filtering for 2.4 & 5 GHz bands but could not get it to force a device onto 2.4 or 5 GHz. I gave up unsure if I'd failed to grasp what looked like a simple process or it was not working.
With Smart Wi-Fi disabled and the VM Connect app uninstalled a split SSID is a practical option.
Connect app if on your mobile will constantly try to re-enable Smart Wi-Fi + re-merge the SSIDs.
Re phone on 2.4 at 20Mb/s, a Samsung model perhaps - re-try with Bluetooth disabled on the mobile and see if it performs closer to 50Mb/s.

Hi @Client62,
Yes, it is a Galaxy A12.
I disabled the BT and got to 25Mb.
I am happy with that TBH, I do not surf much using the phone, just checking on a few forums.
When I got my Hub4 I was really suprised as to the speed on the laptop. All my previous Virgin hubs have been in modem mode and I have been using my own Belkin/TP Link routers.
With the Hub 4, I have moved most of my devices over to the 0.1 network.

Was 25 via Wi-Fi Repeater that is halving the speed ?
Our A12 runs at 50Mb/s direct with our Hub 3 and TP-Link Wi-Fi APs all are set to 2.4Ghz N only. ( B & G disabled )

No, connected direct via wifi to hub network.
When I bought the A12, my spec was two sims and a card. My previous phone Ouikitel had both 2.5 & 5Ghz, but the A12 (or mine at least only has 2.4Ghz), which I can live with. It was the card for my music, the most important to me, then I need two sims, as I was a community driver and wanted a seperate number to give to passengers.

Hey WelshGasman, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear this.
You can manage your devices here, did any of the advice also help?
