How to get a WiFi Pod

Hi, seems the process to get a WiFi pod is as difficult as it is to speak to anyone coherent at VM. How do I actually get one as the connected app tells me all is fine, when it isn't (I ran a mesh network prior to swapping to VM as my walls are like lead). Thanks,

suggest running cable and AP's

Sadly the main Upp router was a linksys model and I added to that to form the mesh network. Without the main router as the start point for the mesh, I'd need to buy another. As for package I'm on M500 full fibre.

Wires and Aps aren't an option without making a mess of the walls to get wires in to the loft.

I'd also add to my comments above that the 'Connect App' is useless, whilst I maybe able to get over 30mb in my rear bedroom, the signal isn't strong enough for several items (lamps/Sky Q mini) to actually connect to it. Certain wireless items clearly need a strength of signal to connect to, rather than just a set speed.

A friendly bump, hoping someone from VM might help?

Hi dunc2610,

Thanks for posting and welcome to our community 😊

Sorry to hear you've had some issues arranging a WiFi pod. Depending on what package you're on there may be a charge for this.

So I can get a few more details from you, I've popped you over a private message.

The VM pods limit you to the default wifi settings in the Hub, which many have found causes problems with connecting some devices.

You'd probably get better results by buying your own Linksys router to feed your mesh. Put the VM hub into modern mode.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

I have the 5x hun, so no modem mode (yet)
