Anyone able to explain why I’ve suddenly stopped receiving emails from the golf club I’m a member at and they are going in to my Junk?
It seems there’s an issue with VM as apparently all members of the golf club that use VM servers are experiencing the same issue.
The club have now sent a message out stating it’s an issue with VM filtering and effecting members using the address below

So, if I am interpreting that correctly, the emails from the golf club are arriving in your email account but they are going into your spam folder rather than your inbox?
If so, there is something about the clubs emails that makes them look suspicious to the Spam filters that VM use..
VM check the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for the domain of every incoming email to ensure that the email is not being spoofed by scammers or spammers. (The "domain" is the name after the @ symbol in an email address.). There may well be something in those records for the golf clubs domain that do not meet the internationally agreed email standards.
For example, the IP address of the server the club users to send those emails may not be included in the SPF record for the clubs email domain. That would make them look suspicious.

Just for information, Talk Talk emails are not part of the Virgin Media portfolio. Many years go, TalkTalk did buy the old Virgin.net ADSL broadband service which may be the cause of the confusion. However, If the club's emails are also being flagged as spam by TalkTalk that is all down to TalkTalk and nothing to do with VM.
I hope that clarifies things a bit.

Hi there, thanks for your response to the itchybubble post.
I have exactly the same problem with emails from my golf club going straight into junk. A few weeks ago, I spoke to the admin department the golf club and they have said to just identify them as not junk and in time this problem should right itself. This has not happened and looking at your response, it appears to be a more complicated issue.
Do I need to speak to the person who is tech savvy and manages the golf club website or is there something else I can do?

You could talk to the person who deals with the email sent from the golf club.
It may not be anything in the content of the emails that is causing their emails to be flagged as spam, it is likely to be more complex than that.
As I said in me earlier post:

To give a simple example: the SPF (Sender Policy Framework) for the golf club's domain should specify all the mail servers that are authorized to send emails for that domain.
If VM receive an email from the golf club that was sent from a server that is not listed on that record then VM cannot be certain the email was sent by the golf club.
Therefore it would seen as a scam or spam email and VM may well flag it as being being spam.
That may not be the exact cause for what you are seeing but I would raise this with the golf club in the first instance to see if they have considered the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for their domain.
If you don't get any joy from them it would be worth posting the headers (also know as "source") for one these spam emails and myself or one of the other VIPs can check that out to see if there are any obvious issues. However, post back with how you get on with the golf club first because you need to be careful that you don't include any confidential information when you post the email header.
