TV mini hub

Hi... hopefully this is in the right place...

Some months ago I acquired a TV mini hub as part of a new contract. This was brought by an engineer who decided in a few seconds that my wifi was working so a wifi only mini hub would be sufficient. Unfortunately not.. I have experienced regular loss of connection and buffering.

I am arranging for ethernet to be available at the TV and would like to swap the mini hub for the other model with an ethernet port. Can this be organised please ?

Thank you.

Steve

    Hi Steve,

There is no equipment named as TV Mini Hubs, and no wifi only TV set top boxes.

You are probably refering to the Stream (Flex) box which is IP based and so provides TV via the internet.  A picture of the Stream (Flex) box and remote is shown below.

If so then it already has the means to connect by ethernet.  The power plug is actually a combined power-ethernet-adapter as shown in the picture below.  (In the picture the ethernet port is on the right hand side)

Hi, thank you for the reply and the corrections. That does indeed look like the box I have.  Apparently then what I am lacking is the is power plug. I was left only what appears to be a standard USB cable plugged in to the TV USB port to power it with.

Apart from the obvious lack of ethernet this also means the the box has to boot from cold every time the TV is started, which takes much too long. I have tried other USB charger adapters and they always give an 'insufficient power' message and the box does not boot.

I would appreciate it I could get hold of the power plug pictured.  Perhaps I will also need a different cable if this one is not appropriate for combined Power/ethernet?

      Thanks again

      Steve

        Hi again Steve,

Thanks for updating the thread, sorry to see that VM didn't send out all of the necessary equipment.

A member of the forum team should pick this up for you in a day or two and be able to order the combined power-ethernet-adapter.

You could try  contacting VM via WhatsApp on 0780 3089 684

Or you can contact VM on Social Media by either messaging

You could also try contacting the Faults team (option 2 when dialling 150 from a VM landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone, however they might not understand what's actually required)
