Hi, we are new with VM also, coming from Sky. We are finding it hard transitioning after being spoilt with Sky Q and series links etc, recorded programmes and so on. Currently we are frustrated by having to watch adverts on programmes that are not live. Also not being able to watch programmes from the start that we missed by 30 or more minutes and having to wait for the said programmes, including +1 channel to finish braodcasting before we can watch. Ultimately we want VM of shy Q if there is such a thing..I read the 360 box is similar but just gauging other people’s thoughts!

VMs standard box is now an IP Stream box. The main reason for this is that all their new network areas will only support this type of box. The V360 box (which is the SkyQ equivalent), operates on broadcast technology so will only work on VMs traditional copper cable networks. These networks are also in the process of being overbuilt with full fibre, in a way just as Sky is moving away from satellite distribution by the end of the decade & will also only offer a Stream box or TV. There is a chance the V360 will outlast SkyQ in some areas. But the days of recording (and free ad skipping) of Pay TV channels are numbered.
Stream is a non-recording box where you are at the mercy of live TV or the branded apps provided by the broadcasters. Those same broadcasters do not want you skipping adverts, so you either record or pay for their premium-levels of "CatchUp"
TV360 is a recording box, and thus you are able to watch programmes time-shifted and fast-forward through them as you desire.
Pay-TV in general is moving towards a future where adverts will become harder & harder to avoid, they're doing rather well in persuading VM & Sky to default away from recording options. If you are in a traditional VM-HFC network area, TV360 should be available on specific request, at additional one-off cost.
