Unable to access emails on Imac

Using my Apple iMac pc I can log into my Virgin media account but when I click on the Quick link (virgin media mail) to access my emails, nothing happens but an empty file (called Unknown) is sent to my download folder. It does not take me to my email folder. However, I have no problems accessing my emails when I use my Apple iPad.

Any ideas what’s happening as this has been happening for about 2 months?

Hi, Thank you, we have used this link which worked for about 5 sign-ons then stopped working. We also right-clicked on the Quick link icon and unsuccessfully used the options such as opening the link in another tab and in a new window. Any more help to resolve is appreciated

        Hello orangejuice

Sorry to hear of the email access issues via your IMac, we appreciate you taking the time to raise this via the forums.

As the issues is only happening on the IMac and not your iPad, can you check to see if there are any differences in the settings for the browser across both devices?

Do you experience similar with other services via the IMac?

        Rob

Hi. We have never changed the settings on the browsers and everything was working fine until a few months ago. All the other services work. It’s only the email as described previously.

Thanks for coming back to us orangejuice, please do check the settings as requested to ensure that they match on both the iPad and Mac.

      Thanks,

Sorry I’m not quite sure  what that means. They are both safari.
What kind of differences am I looking for?

  • Presumably you have cleared your safari history on the iMac?
(Click on safari menu and then click clear history)

Clearing the history works but I have to do this constantly which is a pain. Any other ideas?
