Unable to access email

I've not been able to access my blueyonder email account for 2 days. I'm getting a message requesting my password but when I put the password in nothing happens, it's not been changed recently. If I go to the forgotten password link to try to reset it that's not being accepted either. The whole process just stalls. I've requested service updates but am getting no information. Please can somebody help?

Firstly and most important, are you a paying VM customer?  If not, your mailbox may have been deleted.

If you are still a customer, have you setup the new 3rd party email address to access "My VM"?

Are you trying to access via "My VM" and Webmail, or are you using a mail client?

    Crossed with @Adduxi

I'm assuming this email is attached to a current VM broadband account, otherwise all bets are off.

Are you trying to access emails with an app, or webmail with

    a browser?  Try both.

Are you using the revised method to set the password?

  • I use Thunderbird on laptop and an email app on my Samsung phone. Its my primary email address and I'm still a Virgin customer. I've tried going through the Virgin website but it's not accepting the password that I thought was current or letting me reset it.

Gypsycat  With this setup you will need a password for MYVM and webmail.  Also a separate four word app password for your mail clients.

I've been having the same problem with my ntlworld account. I've been struggling with 'help' from Virgin Media for 4 days and have generated no end of new 3rd party apps through the Virgin Media website, but no matter where I try and put them nothing seems to work. I'm getting a little desperate...

As above, the username/password combo for MYVM/Webmail is different to the ones needed for Mail clients.

  • And now I've somehow managed to access the old @virginmedia account that Virgin couldn't access two years ago.

  • Generated a new App password but that's not working either

  • The Virgin generated password comes up as prohibited word use. This is ridiculous!!!

  • Can anybody help or walk me through this as I'm getting nowhere?

Thanks for coming back to us Gypsycat. Are you able to generate another 3rd party application password and try that?

      Kind Regards,
