Thanks for reaching out to us Scottie74, and we're sorry to hear of the issues experienced with the E-Mail address.
We would need to advise that our ".net" E-Mail addresses were orphaned within the last 12 months and as a result, unless this is attached to an active Virgin Media account, we would not be able to offer our assistance.
However, if this is indeed connected to an active Virgin Media subscription, you will need to ensure that an application password is generated via the My Virgin Media account.
Please review this link, for all your E-Mail needs.
Thanks,
David_Bn

We have a current VM broadband account. Husband's named Account holder.
My email is /was added when the account was set up on 1990's.Monday I lost webmail on my laptop. An hour ago I lost access to my emails on my phone.
I now have no access to my virgin emails.
Stop telling lies about this **bleep** Show

Very poor service and reply! If you’d notified me that my virgin.net email account was due to be orphaned or discontinued I would have had time to forward important emails on to another email account. You didn’t and have left me totally screwed. I just wish someone at tech support would reactivate my virgin.net email address for at least 48 hours so I could forward on my important emails! I had this email address for over 25 years and for you to just orphan it without any notification is disgusting! I certainly won’t be recommending any virgin products to anyone. Thanks for nothing!

I am in the same position and couldn't agree more. This brutal and uncommunicated action actually has significant and damaging mental health risk associated with it!
The only emails I have had to this email account in the past have been scammers claiming the account would be deleted in 90 days, at no point did Virgin reach out and explain the plans. If indeed these accounts have been orphaned and cannot be re-enabled then someone should be held accountable. In my mind this is no different to disconnecting a copper landline emergency contact device. I also don't see any reason why someone can't find a way to get these accounts back up for a few days to remediate the problem.
I wait with interest to see what happens next.

Just bear in mind the Virginmedia has no connection with any other Virgin branded product. It's just a licensed name.

This issue has been going on for months. In the past, VM might have granted temporary access but now all answers seem to be a flat 'no' in response.
You have to make your own luck in trying to regain temporary access although there is no guarantee of success. See past summary below where some users have had a better outcome
Simple fact is that most users simply give up and take the closure without any protest or action.

Does someone know how to make an official complaint to the executive team or the ombudsman?????? I’m still fuming that my virgin.net email address was orphaned/discontinued without any communication!

AFAIK, the 90 day mailbox removal after Contract termination is buried in the T&C's somewhere? I've never looked as I moved my VM mailboxes a few years ago to a non ISP supplied service.

My virgin.net email address was deleted/orphaned without any communication and I’ve lost all my emails. Does anyone know how to complain to the ombudsman? Virgin customer care don’t give a damn and when you try to raise a complaint on their website the complaint form doesn’t work! Surprise surprise! Can someone tell me how I can raise a complaint to the ombudsman. I won’t buy anything associated to virgin ever!!!!!!

if you have a broadband contract with VM you might be able to get some help. Otherwise there is absolutely nothing you can do, no complaint you can make, and nothing the Ombudsman can do.
You've had a free email service for many years, but now it's over. Sorry if that sounds tough, but that's the way it is.

Ombudsman process is explained here
https://www.commsombudsman.org/our-process
Put a complaint to VM in writing
https://www.virginmedia.com/help/complaints
See if this past post from Cardiffman282 helps ref the online complaint form (although it looks like you need a VM login to use it)
Unable to make complaint RE: Offensive Offers | Virgin Media Community - 5618272
Raise the matter via email with the person (officer) shown at the bottom of this page
https://www.virginmedia.com/legal/privacy-policy
Raise the matter via email with the team shown under the power of attorney dropdown below
https://www.virginmedia.com/help/accessibility
Raise the matter with the ICO (suggest doing that by phone since time is not on your side)
https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/data-protection-complaints/
One of the above may help, or none of the above may help, but some have had varying degrees of success in past topics through some of these routes (although admittedly VM's approach now does seem to be a flat 'no' to all requests for help in regaining access to mailboxes)
I am assuming that you are not a VM broadband customer (which may allow you some options) and it is a legacy virgin.net account you have lost
