Accessing email - new account

Hi

Just joined, my wife & I still have our NTL email accounts, although we left Virgin some years ago when we moved to an area where it was not available at the time. Both still work on our phones and allow us to receive incoming mail. Unfortunately, the password for this account on the phone is 9 digits long, but the ones saved on the password memory within the laptops are 8 digits long.

I've tried the various permutations of a password without success. If I consider changing the password on the phone, it will ask for the current password, so I can't go there & endeavouring to enter an old NTL password returns a message that it does not exist.

Is there a way to reset the NTL password without being a customer of Virgin?

Regards

Arthur.

If you are no longer a VM broadband customer, but your email mailbox(es) still work, you should set about switching all of your online contacts and services away from VM email to a new email provider. You should do this as a matter of great urgency while you can still access VM email in some way.

VM has been very busy in recent times closing down mailboxes that are not linked to an current broadband service.

If you start tinkering with password resets, you may also initiate some of VM's new security procedures which may lock you out totally. If that happens, you will not be allowed back in again by VM and your mailboxes (and their contents) will be lost.

I would suggest you make a start of switching email providers ASAP.
