If you are up and running please ignore this.

This is how I think it should work, but It seems not to quite agree with some of the above.

I assume you have one VM media bill paying account. You have created a login using an independent  email address. This login is used to log in to the  Virginmedia home page where you manage the account, and also the Virginmedia webmail app. (mail.virginmedia.com, from memory)

You can access VM's email app either from your Viginmedia home page or directly from a browser. Once logged into the email app you need to add the email accounts separately using the actual email address and password you had previously. You should be able to add secondary email addresses with their password. Downside is everyone now knows the password to the admin account.

If you use a third party app such as outlook or google mail, then you do not need the new VMO2 login, just the actual email address you want to use.

This is how mine seems to work (but I cant reset my secondary account password) but many users are having problems.

      Hello md3.

Just a quick message to see if the advice from Demogorgon helped with accessing the email account?

Please let us know if you still need assistance.

      Hello md3,

Sorry to hear of the issues setting up the VMO2 ID for one of the secondary email addresses on your account, we appreciate you raising this via the forums.

There is help here, a Virgin Media O2 ID replaces the need to create separate Virgin Media sign in and O2 sign in details for Virgin Media and O2 online spaces.

If you have a My Virgin Media or My O2 account and haven’t set up your Virgin Media O2 ID yet, when you sign in to these spaces, just enter the email address you’d usually use to sign in. We’ll then ask you to create your new ID.

Otherwise, head to any of our sites and tap Register to sign up and create your Virgin Media O2 ID.

md3  "The account is in my name so he is unable to link his new 02 log in account to a vm account! "

Under the new sign in process each VM email account will have its own VMO2 ID so the new process does not require him to link his VM email account to VM broadband account.

However, if he has not already done so, the new sign in process will require him to specify a non VM email account to act either:

    • as the username of his VM email account
    • or to become the email address that VM sent verification emails, for passoword resets for example.

Hi Thanks for replying. How does he access his vm emails? He has specified a non VM email account, however, when trying to log into emails he gets this notification! Thanks

md3 When he created the created the VMO2 ID did he use the email address of the account he wants to access or a different one?  If he had used the email address for his emails the VMO2 ID would have linked to that account.  So he could try creating another VMO2 ID this time using the actual email address he is trying to access.
