Retentions just called

Gave notice to cancel a few days ago and just had retentions call me back. I'm currently paying £77 for 1 gig broadband, sky sports HD and Tnt sports. No extra boxes or anything else.

I've already gone to a cityfibre provider for broadband.

Retentions called me this morning to try to get me to stay and the best they could offer was £97 .

  • TNT Sport has become a standalone add on since you last started a contract. If you bin that VM could probably keep the price you have had.

  • It can be quite frustrating when you don't get a compelling offer to stay with your current provider, especially after already deciding to switch. It’s interesting that they would offer a higher price instead of trying to retain you with a more competitive rate. Here's what you can do next:

    1. Review Your Options: Since you've already signed up with a new provider, make sure you are getting a good deal with them and check if they have a better plan or any promotions that you might have missed.
    2. Call Back and Negotiate: Sometimes, speaking to a different representative or calling back can yield a different result. Mention that you have already switched to another provider and see if they can match or beat your current deal.
    3. Check for Additional Offers: Ask specifically about any new customer offers, loyalty discounts, or promotions that might apply to your account.
    4. Evaluate the Services: If your new provider is meeting your needs and you're satisfied with their service and pricing, it might be best to continue with them.
