Wired connection to device in different room

    If you mean there is a splitter for the coax to the VM hub which is shared with the TV, that wouldn't work. You need an ethernet cable.

I am still surprised the PLAs are not sufficient for TV.

Before moving the VM Hub and totally changing the pattern of WI-Fi in the house, I would get hold of a long network cable and connect the TV direct to the VM Hub. It is important to confirm any proposed change is going to be a fix.
