Ring Doorbell 2.4ghz

Hi thereI am having so much trouble trying to get my ring doorbell back online.&nbsp;I did loads of reading on here and I found a lot of people said that Virgin doesn’t support 2.4ghz and that I needed to install a second router that does. &nbsp;So I ordered one of these:&nbsp;Vonet vap11sIt worked great! Everything was back up and running and virgin was fine. Then a day later the virgin wifi was showing fine but the virgin stream box (the only device doing this) would not connect to the virgin internet. &nbsp;After a lot of the wife screaming I tried everything leading to unplugging the new router I bought… all solved with the TV but back to no ring doorbellAny with this would be so much appreciated, especially as I seem to be wasting more money on products to try and get it workingKind regardsDan

All Virgin Media hubs support 2.4Ghz so there shouldn't be any need for your own router just to make the door bell work.&nbsp;

Yes you are right, I’m going to suggest that the OP has a Hub 5, and for some reason the ‘combined’ wifi channels seem to have issues with some IoT devices. Now whether that’s aa problem with the VM hub or the devices, is open to question - however the point is, from the user’s perspective, ‘this doesn't work’!But a third party router, generally with far more granular controls does seem to be the solution!

I did loads of reading on here and I found ... no just posted and hoped for the best.Indeed all VM Hubs support 2.4 and 5GHz.The real issue appears to either be :&nbsp;1) The management app fails to operate across two Wi-Fi bands.2) The VM Hub fails to pass data between the two bands.Not having the CCTV apps in question or a Hub 4 or 5 or 5x to test on I'm not in a position to confirm.&nbsp;&nbsp; But for a Hub 3 traffic does pass between the 2.4 &amp; 5GHz bands.The usual workaround is disable 5GHz and get the CCTV connected, then re-enable 5GHz.
