Microsoft Teams drop out / glitches

Hi

my wife, using a DELL laptop, has issues working from home. Her Teams calls frequently drop when she's talking - only for a second or so - but it makes it unusable. She doesn't have these problems when in the office.

I use a Mac and don't have any issues at home or elsewhere with Teams.

Can anyone suggest anything as it's making things very difficult

thank you

Does the DELL use that "Killer" software for the network per chance ?  It's been the subject of several threads here.

Good question. I don't know what that is! I'll have to investigate - unless you can give any quick advice. thank you for the response

It's just the network drivers for the NIC on the laptop.  I believe it's Intel Killer Software and one of the functions is to apply QoS to the network, it's supposed to make life easier, but ....

It was installed on my DELL PC and was one of the first things I removed.  Why manufacturers can't just simply supply a driver that is just that.  Nothing with bells and whistles, thank you!

Just type killer into the search bar at the top of the page and you will get lots of results around this software.

MS Teams is the one video conference tool that  attracts new gripes about its instability on a continuous basis, this has persisted for years.

Perhaps your wife use the Dell on a network cable or docking station in the office.

Try a network cable direct to the VM Hub at home,
even if that mean buying a £10 USB 3 to Gigiabit network adaptor.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it's not a practical option to sit connected directly to the hub but I suppose as a test it's worth a try. Thank you. We actually use Eero mesh around the house though.

I would agree other than all tests and every other wifi experience is generally fine and Teams on other devices are absolutely fine.
