Still on V6 - will we soon lose for stream?

We have not upgraded to the 360. A few features missing that the V6 has that are used too much. Anyway. Are Virgin retiring the 360 too? I fear that the box will fail at some point as we have had it for many years now. Will we just be given a stream box instead.

We also had someone from Netomnia at the door saying that Virgin are turning something off within the next 12 months or so...

The V6 and 360 only work on VM's legacy networks which VM is migrating from, so in time every Pay TV customer will have to use a streaming box. However that date is some years away for most.

V6 remain fully supported for fault replacements. Faulty TiVo's are still swapped for V6, and additional multiroom V6 remain available for existing TiVo & V6 customers.

The Sky Sports+ HD multiscreen app was launched on V6 last November, and the UKTV app also made available for V6 in recent months.

Marketing effort is very much focused on Stream, with TV360 available reactively.

So no more recording (and skipping adverts?)

You can still buy a TV recorder for Freeview from an aerial. That will still be available for many years.

  • Netomnia is now associated with BRSK I beleive ...many customers of VM are jumping ship and switching their custom there .. cost, better faster service.. better all round ..well worth checking out ..just saying

Although as VM are phasing out their TV service and going to streaming only, it does start to make it a comparable option.

Stick with what you've got that works for you. And never believe a salesman at your door.

We are sticking with the V6. But if it fails what will replace it?

Faulty TiVo & V6 are replaced with V6.
