Spotify??

What’s going on with virgin media still not having Spotify or any music apps for that matter in 2024… I personally think it’s essential having these apps on the virgin tv box specially when sky is miles ahead in terms of the apps on there’s. Massive massive downfall not having them they need added onto the box

You've posted in the V6 section of the forum, so I presume this is the box you have.

Whilst this remains fully supported, all new app development - with the exception of Sky Sports multiscreen - is now focused on TV360. I don't believe Spotify is on TV360, but suspect that YouTube could replicate most of it.

Whether TV360 "with these apps" is a better experience overall than a V6 "without these apps" would be another question.

VM and Spotify parted ways, but no information as to why is available. You can, however, get Spotify on some TVs and streaming devices.

  • my issue isnt that I cant get spotify on my TV - I can, BUT It means I have to use a 2nd remote as the 360 remote doesnt work for TV menus....  Thats the MOST annoying thing for me - I just want a single remote......   I ve used Harmony for years HOWEVER, 1.  it means you cant use voice commands and 2.  Harmony remotes arnt made any more and mine are starting to fail.   I need a news all in one solution and 360 looked like being it.   HOWEVER, without Spotify as an app - and preferable Now (which I have on and off), which are the only 2 I need to use my TV for - OR for the 360 remote to operate my TVs menu's (literally left, right, up, down and select and back would be enough) it falls short.  How hard is it in 2024, for one provider to support all popular apps - and for simple functions across TV, providers box and AV Equp to be supported from a single remote.   Seriously - they need to get their s&it together.

      Hi paulmapp8306

There are other All In One remotes that can work the 360, however like the Harmony remote they lack the voice control function. For example  the OneForAll URC7125 -which uses the SimpleSet setup process and Ziggo  as the manufacturer.  Or the OneForAll1240 -which works with the code 1582. These remotes can be used to control TV's, soundbars, and Now (TV) etc

A number of Smart TV remotes such as the LG ones can also be used with the 360, again though they lack the voice interaction. My LG Smart remote controls my 360 box if I pair it as either Zigg, Ziggo Mediabox Next, or Virgin (North East/Ireland etc)

Perhaps as an enterprising hobbyist or electronics engineer  could write/program an Alexa skill to work with the 360, maybe even offer/sell the coding to Liberty Global to use on their Horizon based boxes such as the 360.
