I have a V6 box, an LG TV and a Yamaha soundbar.
The remote has been set up to turn the LG on and off, but I want to control the volume of the Yamaha using the V6 remote.
I have tried the Volume Down/Clear combination, pressing 1999 and using the remote volume both up and down with a large number of tries but don't seem to get a response from the soundbar.
Is there an easier alternative method for pairing the remote to the Yamaha?

You can also try a variation of your previous Volume Down/Clear combination, pressing 1999
Press and hold the clear and TV buttons. Enter 1999 to enter the search codes feature. Press channel up (or down) until your TV turns off. When it does turn off, press OK to save the code.
After that press and hold the clear and volume up buttons, and then enter one of the above AV receiver codes until the volume buttons work your YAMAHA AV receiver. The power button should still turn on and off your TV when you press and hold the power button.
