RSSI OF -75DBM

hi all we had wifi dropping out about a month back got the virgin egineer booked he replaced the tv media device and put us in a new router 5, turns out our problems are still bad netflix and other apps are stuck or you go into them and gget black screen.

our router is in a office up stairs as the cctv goes to it and our three gaming cables runs in it as well i know we sjould have the router as close as posible the wifi is CRAP asked about cable to router was told no, if we are not getting the service we wantedsurely we can move, internet not bad but the tv service is rubbish glad we still have sky. our RSSI is -75 this morning when i turned the tv on it was -78.

its comming up to christmass we dont want to be left looking at crap tv programs that will not load up even utube buffering.

help advice, also can not get into the new router useing the orginal pass word but nothing  so carn use or see if any errors in router.

help please advice i know what most will be and thats leave,

    You needs at lease -65dBm for a wifi signal. The smaller the better btw.  A good signal would be around -40 or less.  It sounds like your TV box needs to be cabled.  VM do not supply Ethernet cabling, this will need to be supplied and fitted by yourself or a local electrician. Alternatively use a powerline adapter to get a cabled connection using your power sockets.

  • What box do you have and is the 360 box connected by coax and the TV  rubbish on non streaming TV, or is it just the apps. Do you have a streaming box.
