Radio Stations

This solution does not work. I managed to get a list of radio stations by pressing the Radio tab, but clicking on them does nothing. Nor does the voice button work, it just says 'can't do that'. So despite the extortionate amount of money I pay to Virgin media, I can't listen to any radio stations except on catch up on BBC Sounds!

Rather than add to an old post which was validly marked solved at the time, it would be better to start a new thread explaining your issue and link to the old post with a comment of "this is similar but the advice doesn't work anymore" - your post has now been moved to a new thread.

The TV360 doesn't have radio channels in the EPG, and relies on the radioline app. Is this the one you're trying to use?

  • Are you using the BBC Sounds app on the 360 box or your TV.

If you can watch the catch-up from the TV guide and the apps work then that should prove your network connection is OK, the radio channels are all streamed the same as catch-up.

If you listen to a radio station it should then show as recently listened to when you select the radio tab, do you see this.

All these streaming services may work  but are a lot slower to access than having radio channels. There is also an increased delay with streaming which is rubbish for sport/ live events.  It also means you cant record them. Another part of the 360 downgrade.

What was the reason for their exclusion from the 360? They exist fine on VMs other boxes, so they are carrying  them on the network.

The Horizon core firmware was never designed for audio only operation, as the rest of Liberty Global's operators in Europe stopped carrying broadcast radio at digital switchover in the early 2000s. Horizon was released in 2010. The broadcast radio on V360 has a work around by using (yes you guessed it) a background app, in a similar way to a Red Button service on a TV channel , that contains the required codecs to listen to the channels.
