I have a Samsung smart tv and just the last few days, instead of showing up as Virgin tv, it was saying EIR tv. I disconnected the HDMI cable and connected it again and it came up Sky tv. Disconnected again and then said Unknown. I find it strange that after years, Virgin tv has disappeared. Still have my channels though.
Has your Samsung TV had a software update.
I believe you can label the HDMI inputs, if you set it to Virgin does it reset to something else when you switch off.
