360 mini box

Last week I got upgraded to VM 360, a new main box and a mini box were installed. The programme record functions on the main box seem to work fine, however I do not seem to be able to get the mini box to do any recording. When I press the record button on the remote it says that the recording is being scheduled, however nothing shows up. So I have had to resort to setting up recording on the main box.

Is this the way it is supposed to work?

    The mini box has no hard drive for recording, so it's all recorded on the main 360.  You watch recordings on the mini  that are streamed from the main box.

      When the mini box was installed the Engineer told me that it did not have a hard drive and that all recordings would be held on the main box. Fine, I understood the concept. However I would have expected to be able to press record on the mini box remote and for the programme to be "scheduled" and loaded on to the main box. When I press record it tells me that the recording is being "scheduled" but nothing actually gets recorded.

      Is this how it is supposed to work or is my set up wrong?

    More than likely it’s an account problem. Horizon V360 has a server driven backend, & if the account settings are wrong it messes up the recordings. If you have the TV Go app installed on a device can you set recordings from that without issues?

  • If the main box is in standby it needs to be set to fast start or active start and not switched off at the plug for the mini box to set the recording, if that is how things are you can check using the TVGO app which box is the default box for recording and change it if required, the app originally showed my mini box as the default box.

    How are both boxes connected to the hub ethernet cable or wi-fi, my mini is connected using wi-fi and doesn't have any problems setting recordings, can you watch recordings on the mini box OK. Using the TVGO app to set recordings when the main box is in standby can sometimes take a while to actually work.

    I have downloaded the TV Go app onto my phone and set up a few future recordings, so will see if it responds.

    Interestingly I clicked on to a film currently running on channel 4 and then hit record on the mini box's remote and it seemed to work. The film appeared on the recordings list. Maybe it will settle down.

    To be honest I am not that impressed by the new kit. I had the old TIVO/V6 boxes for about five years and did not have any issues. Progress!!!!
