TV-only costs £73pm!

As I've still got BB via TalkTalk I've had TV Only via a TiVo box for years and I've just been attempting to tot up how much it's costing me. It's obviously going up by 7.5% soon and I have TNT included on top of MaxitTV (whatever that is), basically for £73. Does this seem reasonable? No way I can check this on the website as V doesn't offer TV-only now.

Your old TiVo has a VM Broadband supply, but since these old boxes are no longer used, their now needs to be a Hub installed as well as a TV box.  You would be better to get your TV elsewhere for a few months and then come back as a “new” user deal.

Alas not. A legacy TiVo, if that's what the OP has, doesn't use the VM home broadband but instead has its own inbuilt internet connection fed via the same coax.

You need to make a decision whether to have a VM broadband connection or not. If you don't, then realistically you won't be getting any significant retentions offers. VM operate a multi-bundle discount system, and those are based on customers taking multiple services - VM's latest pay-TV boxes all need a VM home broadband connection.

  • Hi Shugg,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear you're unhappy with the cost of your TV service. This isn't something we offer anymore and as a result, it can limit any discounts or offers available to you.

It would be best to speak to the team on 150 / 0345 454 1111 to check if there is anything available. It'll will also be worth looking at seeing how much it would be to upgrade to include broadband, and if you want/need one, a landline. This would open discounts up to help with combining the overall cost of the services.

Keep us posted on how you get on.

    Thanks,
