Screen is black

From this morning my screen is completely black, no sound.

I still have all the graphics so it is not a cabling issue. I can navigate channels and go to my recordings. But all channels are a silent black screen and so are my recordings.

I have a second TiVo box in another room and this one is unaffected.

I have restarted the box several times

Any ideas?

    Could be a content protection (HDCP) handshake issue, although you normally get still get sound decoded when this happens.

    1. Try a new HDMI lead.
    2. Try a different socket on the TV (if available)

      If both of these fail then you have a box fault & it will need replacing. TiVO 500s are now replaced with V6 boxes, so you will need to 1) have Virgin Broadband & 2) be able to link the new box to your hub either Wired or WiFi.
